We currently have an opportunity for a Shift Electrician at our Manufacturing Plant in Jacksonville, IL.

Pay: $34.90-34.90/ hour

*Pay rate is dependent upon prior experience and interview results

Responsibilities

The Shift Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and ensure production equipment operates safely and effectively. The Electrician collaborates with production, maintenance, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment to restore production operations.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Support production teams by responding to equipment issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical components, controls, motors, sensors, drives, and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, facilities, and technical teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Support equipment upgrades, improvement projects, and equipment rebuilds.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and electrical safety procedures.
  • Document maintenance activities and complete work orders accurately and on time.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment to the component level.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Support maintenance programs, including equipment inspections, lubrication, and component replacement.
  • Diagnose equipment failures using electrical testing equipment, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment required to support operations.
  • Provide maintenance support to other Reynolds Consumer Products facilities for short- or long-term assignments as business needs require.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and improvement opportunities to leadership and production teams.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting skills and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require.

Preferred

  • Associate degree or technical certificate in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, motors, sensors, industrial controls, or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
