We currently have an opportunity for a Total Production Maintenance Specialist located at our highly automated plant in Jacksonville, IL.

 

Pay: $27.04/hour

Responsibilities

Your Role:

The Total Production Maintenance Specialist will support the manufacturing facility through the execution of routine operational tasks and assignments across all areas of the plant in adherence with General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards with the goal of maintaining plant efficiency.

  • Perform routine, scheduled tasks per standard work in conversion department including but not limited to bag machine, winder, and packaging set up.
  • Partner with team leaders, R2s, and operators to minimize downtime without sacrificing quality of work or safety.
  • Advanced troubleshooting of mechanical failures.
  • Assist with underperforming lines to bring back into standards.
  • Identify, correct, and report items that could potentially cause a breakdown, minor stop, or quality defect.
  • Coach and develop R2s and operators on routine technical tasks.
  • Lead, schedule and complete routine inspections and periodic required mechanical tasks to optimize and minimize line down time.
  • Collect and dispose of environmental waste items according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Restock QAS desks, tool replenishment areas, printer ink/supplies, and other areas as needed.
  • Assist in Stockroom organization and stocking.
  • Adjust to changes in standard work and schedule, as necessary.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to drive efficient plant operation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work and storage areas.
  • Adhere to industry best practices, SOPs, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

We need you to have:

  • Mechanically inclined with practical critical thinking competence.
  • Adherence to standardized work.
  • Read and interpret documents accurately.
  • Read a basic ruler and use basic math skills.
  • Initiative-taker, motivated to work independently, and with others.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Successfully work in a fast-paced and stressful environment, while maintaining efficiency.
  • C1 qualified operator.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience.

  • Constant standing and walking up to twelve (12) hours per day.
  • Occasional sitting with frequent stooping, twisting, squatting, kneeling, bending, and stair climbing.
  • Frequent use of ladders.
  • Lifting to fifty (50) lbs., carrying up to thirty (30) feet.
  • Reaching out, high, and low.
  • Constant repetitive use of hands/wrists/fingers, shoulder/elbows, and hip/knees/ankles.
  • Correctable visual acuity – near, far, and in both eyes.
  • Visual perception in both eyes including color, depth, and fields.
  • Hearing in a minimum of one ear.
  • Communicate verbally and/or in writing.
  • Effective use of both hands and feet.
  • Balance/Coordination intact.
  • No identifiable risk of incapacity that may occur suddenly or without warning.

Icing on the cake: 

  • Previous training/teaching experience.
  • Cross-trained in more than one department.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
