Pay: $27-$35/Hourly
*Pay is based off of prior experience
The Quality Auditor & Lead is responsible for auditing work activities of production workers, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, and improving overall plant quality and productivity. This role involves performing audits, conducting inspections, managing documentation, maintaining quality hold databases, and providing training and support to production staff to enhance product quality and ensure compliance with GMP and BRCGS standards.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Auditing and Inspections:
• Perform regular audits of plant processes and worker activities, verifying conformance to quality assurance standards.
• Observe and question workers about their tasks to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Review processing information such as worker and material logs, inspection sheets, and product processing sheets to verify accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct between 1-2 audits per employee to monitor equipment usage, maintenance, and operation according to quality assurance standards.
• Perform monthly internal site inspections and compile findings in a report for plant leadership.
• Ensure plant sanitation is maintained and verify monthly checklists are signed off.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Write and submit detailed audit reports to supervisory personnel and leadership.
• Maintain and update plant documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), records, and quality manuals.
• Create and maintain a document control database.
• Ensure BRCGS audit requirements are met by maintaining necessary plant records, policies, and procedures.
Quality Holds and Tracking:
• Maintain a daily quality hold database, ensuring all data is up to date.
• Define dispositions and AQLs for quality holds and perform product inspections, documenting findings.
• Track and file 'quality rework' data sheets.
Training and Development:
• Deliver quality training for new employees and provide ongoing training for all employees as necessary.
• Teach technicians quality measurement standards and techniques.
• Support quality technicians and provide coverage as needed, including filling in for night shifts when required.
Testing and Measurements:
• Participate in product quality testing and use measurement equipment to ensure that products meet customer specifications.
• Evaluate the mechanical and electrical condition of equipment, and assess the condition of raw materials and finished goods.
Scheduling and Coverage:
• Monitor the production schedule, ensuring that quality and job paperwork are prepared before production changeovers.
• Provide periodic support to the night shift as a quality leader and oversee specific production processes to ensure quality standards are upheld.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This role may involve limited leadership duties, including guiding the quality team and offering support for audits, inspections, and quality training programs.
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• College education preferred
• 4 years of experience in the following is a plus (required if no degree): foam, thermoforming, injection molding and/or Quality Assurance environment.
Language Skills:
• Proficiency in English is required; Spanish is helpful but not required.
