We currently have an opportunity for an HVAC Electrician located at our highly automated plant in Jacksonville West, IL.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

 

As an HVAC Electrician, you will provide support to various teams for troubleshooting, repairs, projects, and any other electrical needs. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment down to the component level
  • Provide electrician support to work teams, technical groups, facilities and other functional groups for troubleshooting, repairs, projects, etc.
  • Support predictive, preventive, and parts rebuild maintenance programs
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team to solve electrical and mechanical equipment problems
  • Provide electrical and mechanical support to other RCP Jacksonville facilities for either short or long-term assignment as the business need requires
  • Support plant safety initiatives
  • Be able to communicate effectively (both electronic and face-to-face) with Operators, Team Leaders, Developers, Engineers, and Technicians regarding repair issues

Requirements

Desired Qualities:

  • Demonstrated electrical / electronics troubleshooting and print reading abilities
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude
  • HVAC troubleshooting and repairs
  • Demonstrated strong training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with ability to work with and cooperate with others at multiple levels
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to move to other groups and/or work areas as needed for support of the business

We need you to have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree / certificate in electrical / electronics preferred / Cerificate HVAC
  • Successful completion of TPC (Electrical) course material and Electrical Mentor Program sign-off (Plant Electrician Qualified)
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with RCP or other plastics-related machinery preferred
  • Strong background in electrical / electronics equipment troubleshooting and repair with HVAC experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand and walk. The job frequently requires the employee to push and pull up to 15 pounds of force; reach forward and above the shoulders; bend and twist, climb stairs, frequently turn wrists, and grip/grasp an object, type on a keyboard, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally carry/move up to 32 pounds. The employee will also occasionally be required to lift objects up to 50 pounds. Occasionally the employee will be asked to stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, climb scaffolding, and sit. The ability to have controlled use of both hands and both feet and have balance/coordination intact is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, mid-range, and distance vision including color, depth, and fields. Physical demands may also include ability to withstand extreme heat and moderate cold temperatures.
